Acme McCrary Wins Sustainability Award from Wal-Mart
Acme-McCrary has been a staple of the Randolph County economy for more than 100 years. The hosiery manufacturer supplies private labels as well as seamless garments to some of the biggest names in the business including Spanx, Gymboree, Banana Republic and Kohl’s.
But it was the call from Wal-Mart, one of their largest customers that really made them think about the next 100 years.
Their number one customer not only expected an increase in their overall score, they also asked for their plan of improvement. That was when a call was made to Barrett Walker at the Industrial Extension Service (IES) at NC State University.
